Lynette Cook's space art.

Space art inspires lots of people. I've got many books and the internet proposes a huge number of paintings, drawings, computer synthesized images and CD Roms also make it possible to build our screensavers with them.
But somehow, I'm not sure that even 10% of them reflect the truth (what our eyes would see).
This could be quite decieving when we realize what it is.
For instance: all those paintings show stars around objects that are too shiny to allow our eyes to see stars at the same time. The sky is black, actually. That's because our eyes make it so. But star filled paintings inspired us in the beginning of the space age. We went to space, discovered the blackest sky....but turned around and discovered the most beautiful jewel...our own planet! Space artists were taken aback and never could actually match the true vision of our own planet from space.
