Douglas Englebart on tech TV

"The father of the mouse" Douglas Englebart was on tech TV last night and he brought with him the orginal mouse and something really cool - a 5 key 'keyboard'.

The letters A-Z were mapped to the numbers 1- 26. The five keys represented the binary numbers 1,2,4,8,16. The key combinations that you selected were summed to determine the number that was coverted to the corresponding letter.

I guess It only left 5 spare numbers and didn't have a shift key. One handed typing would be cool but why re-invent the wheel?

BTW, have you seen the "GloveBoards"?
