Okay, I agree the fat lady is singing.
In my non-expert opinion I figure one of four things probably happened...
-The parachute failed to deploy correctly.
-The sway continued to ground rupturing an airbag.
-A sharp rock puncture one of the three airbags.
-The airbags failed to separate away from Beagle 2.
