We must crash a giant impactor into the martian surface ASAP.
I propose that we de-orbit one of Mars' Moons. (why does Mars need 2 Moons? One is plenty.)
We only have a small window of opportunity to accomplish this, as pesky Human settlers might soon try to make Mars their home, and they won't be happy if this experiment is completed in their backyard...Interplanetary war might follow such an experiment...We may never have a better opportunity to inflict a truely cataclysmic (spelling?) impact event on a terrestrial planet so near to and similair to the Earth.
Somebody call NASA and pull some strings...get this thing fast tracked...It will be a project for the ages...It will probably supply us with hundreds of years worth of interesting scientific data. think of all the areas of science that will be impacted!
Or Maybe the military would be interested... altering and/or controlling the orbit of potential impactors could certainly have a huge military value (although I admit, on this one I hope the civilians can be in charge).
Maybe we could send EP Grodine to Mars to study the fallout and other effects. If his impactor theories are proved correct, then we could award him a Nobel prize (probably post-humusly...But then his spirit will live forever in our hearts).

Think big! We want our children's granchildren to remember us!!!
We have only a small window of opportunity to test EP Grodine's impact theories!
