>>>The post about NASA hiding UFOs broke the camels back<<<
Why did you put words in my mouth and apparently delete the proof? In my posting (a response to someone ELSE's posting of someone's UFO website which suggests the Mars rocks are machines [I'm still chuckling over that one]), I made POLITE fun of the UFO site. I followed up, though, with a proposal that NASA doesn't exactly stand to gain by offering any potential proof that UFO's might exist, because socialist NASA's technology would make NASA seem like an "underachiever" in comparison. I understand that you don't want this BBS to seem like a haven for UFO enthusiasts who don't subscribe to the principles of rationality. I agree with your goal. I do not agree with your assessment of the post in question, though.
On a serious note, though, a counter to what I insinuated above could be that NASA stands to gain enormously (budget-wise and prestige-wise) by uncovering evidence of life out there, and sharing the information. It's an issue I thought about from time to time while serving at NASA HQ before deciding to get politically active. What you may consider spam can be considered by others to be "sewing the seeds of progress":
WHO pinned Bush down live on national t.v. about his Mars views other than me?
