E-mail booby traps
Got another one of those e-mails asking for verification of personal information. This one is a flawless imitation of the Paypal layout, even up to the working links. It is, of course, a trap to get me to feed crooks credit card numbers and the like.
No reliable on-line service will ask for personal information except over their secured log-in sites.
Watch out for stuff like this. Other such chameleon e-mails will ask you to download something that is usually a virus. One such looks exactly like a Microsoft e-mail, asking you to download a security patch.
