The fact that - in the same shot - you can see Taurus so clearly and beautifully...
...kinda points out that it is not much polution at all.
Sodium lights only polute in a narrow band of frequencies that can be easily filtered out, with little or no loss of science. (That being said, I would not set up an amature scope under that lamp!)
