The Moon is harder to reach and a lot harder to return from. How is it easier to service? Do you mean only if a base is nearbye? In that case you need to look at the difference in investment required. Do you think the power industry is prepared to make a 100+ billion dollar investment? GEO power satellites could be put up one at a time much as most of our infrastructure has been built.
