If the stuff in them wasn't chemical have we discovered a new type of matter?*

I know, I'm being pedantic. :-)
(There was a British washing powder a few years ago that advertised itself as "New And Improved - With 25% less Chemicals!!!")

*Since it wasn't bio or chem warfare material i guess it's now "doesnt-matter"
