Frankly, I doubt if North Korea has any operational nukes. My reason is simple: Kim Jong-Il has claimed that he has them. Since almost everything that he says is a lie, I have my doubts.

In any event, in order to defeat him, we don't necessarily need to destroy the nukes. We just have to destroy him. I think that he knows that.

Also, batteries of Arrow and Patriot 2 missiles have recently been installed along the border between the Koreas. This greatly complicates delivery of weapons.

As far as the non-functional North Korean Army is concerned, there are a few points to consider:

99% of the vehicles and weapons are 1950s vintage or older.
There is no fuel for the vehicles.
There are no spare parts for the weapons.
There is no food for the soldiers.
There is not a single officer or enlisted man in the North Korean Army who has ever been in combat.

This is not a winning combination.

As radios are smuggled into North Korea from South Korea and China, the people will be exposed to the realities of the rest of the world. They will find out what kind of a government they have. Eventually, his rule will end, and he will sit in a cell to await trial for "crimes against humanity". It could not happen to a more deserving fellow.
