A military use.
Our habitablezone engineer, GARY, pooh-poohed the idea of practical 'peaceful' uses
for helium-3 cause it requires considerably higher temperatures to fuse he-3 and de
than de-de, or tr-de.
A fusion of deuterium and helium-3 releases energy equivalent to 18.4 million electron-volts.
A fusion of (deuterium-deuterium) releases energy equivalent to somewhere between 4-6 million
electron-volts (info from a Google.ca site).
A fusion of tritium-deuterium is?....I seem to recall it was somewhere between 5-10 million electron volts
(help me out on this one; couldn't find the Usenet site with the data).
OK!....Fusion reactions [VIOLENT DESTRUCTIVE ONES], with an A-bomb trigger, are already "practical" as far as the nuclear powers are concerned, and have been since 1953-54.
My point is? Why not use lunar helium-3 as H-Bomb fuel?
Unlike tritium (with a half-life near 30-32 years), you can store helium-3 in a weapon indefinitely.
Helium-3 - Deuterium fusion reactions also would generate a "bigger bang'" per gram than
using tritium & deuterium salts in Thermo-nuclear weapons.

There may indeed may be a 'practical' use for Helium-3 afterall.
