NAACP will oppose Bush's NASA outsourcing programs.

"A prominent civil rights group on Saturday vowed to step up its efforts to protect federal work from contractors, arguing that the Bush administration's competitive sourcing initiative disproportionately endangers jobs held by minorities and women. "We need to get together and lay out a game plan [to prevent outsourcing]," said Leroy Warren, chairman of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People's Federal Sector Task Force"

As a sidenote, 2 African American BILLIONAIRES (Robert Johnson & Donald Watkins) happen to be aerospace enthusiasts. Nevertheless, neither wants to play the NASA contractor game. And since NASA won't offer competitive prizes for as long as the NAACP will give NASA's bureaucrats political cover, it's not as easy to expose NASA as being little more than a bureaucrats' plantation upon which African Americans are kept down & dependent. Personally I'd like to see more Jackie Robinsons enter the space launch industry because prices sure haven't come down much in the USA without them. Maybe with some genuinely inspirational African American success stories regarding space, the Democrat Party (which gets 94% of the black vote) wouldn't be as likely to oppose bold space initiatives like Bush's (unfortunately probably pork-laden) one. In the mean time, though, NASA bureaucrats still get away with screaming that anybody who even so much as thinks these kind of thoughts is racist and insubordinate, etcetera.
