Touchy situation with Iraqi elections
<a href="http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=540&e=4&u=/ap/20040122/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq"Calling in the U.N. could work. Or it could not. I guess a lot depends on if one trusts the motivations of Annan:
"Hmmmm...what a decision. Make a reasonable and accurate call that will lead to successful transfer of power in Iraq, or make a call that rips the guts out of Bush and the United States with a rusty knife, watch Iraq go up in flames, and teach those arrogant bastards in America to act without the leave of their overlords?"
I guess we'll see.
Of course, no U.N. person will go there if they might get hurt, something that makes them really good at peacekeeping.
