Given JPL's leisurely rate....
I also thought that the Rover's designed lifespan was 90 days. However NASA tends to over-engineer their spacecraft. JPL's leisurely rate at getting MER-A off the landing pad struck me as a bit odd considering the spacecraft was depreciating at a rate of $3000/minute.
