Did't imply that at all :p.
just to raise another point about using "OLD" programing languages at least most of the problems are know about so as such soultions are available (no excuse there).
as a rule never use "new" code if old code is proved to do the job unless the benefit outway the knowledge and track record.
I used cobol on ICL machines i use RPG on the as/400.
used basic(loaddddddddds of different versions), c and c++ and other stuff
"C is SO old-fashioned and clumsy. It is a 1970s language no longer fit for professional use"
that statement is not true as the more you know about a programing laguage the more you know about its short comings and as such deal with it.
most code that was writing in the 70's is only rewritten if it can be bettered or if its not compatibale with the new system.
i must add i don,t know if these are the problems but are questions worth raising.
if its a case of i think it works or i know it works then i would select the old system any day.
