discussion with my SW staff

Despite the fact that we write Telecom eqpt SW, take all of this with appropriate out of industry grain of salt but here goes...

1. It amazed us that they did not do stress testing of flash, etc. to see what the REAL WORLD did to flash overload. Not hard to do.

2. It confounds me that the mission planners did not keep track of how much flash they were using. I know we always worry about our finite resourse elements' usage.

3. And yes, we are plagued by C language 'memory leaks' although we do find all that we've ever known about that passed design review via rigorous SW system testing

4. Fun to see the bastards at Wind River (VxWorks) with egg on thier face

5. These JPL types are super world class and work hours we couldn't imagine; diagnosing and fixing a problem like that has to be tough. Good for them.
