Well, I've never seen lapdancing going on here, but then again things are a bit different up in "warrior country" (2nd ID land for those who don't know). Things are a lot more strict up where the 2nd ID is, (even Majors are not allowed to have POVs with them!) So I am not suprised that the local bars around post are like that. In fact, they are much worse from what I gather.

Personally I feel a bit of sorrow and disdain for soldiers who go to those places. People come here and get caught up going to the local ghetto/drinking district that they don't get to see what Korea really is all about. Worse yet, that place turns out to be all they see of Korea and they come away thinking its some second world country. Right now I am in Seoul, and there is no end to the great places to shop, party, and experience culture. It is certainly more upscale than Richmond Va. And ALL of them beat the hell of the run down, overpriced crap hole that exsists just outside post. I'm sure all of the 'villes' have changed quite a lot, and for the tamer since you've been here Dan, but they still look a lot like something out of a Christina Aguelera music video.

I do what I can to try to show the new soldiers there's an alternative, with a fairly good success rate I might add. But still there are so many who end up wasting thier tour.
