Pepper
A lot of shots of the rocks seem to show them liberally "sprinkled" with black specks, like pepper. They don't look like artifacts, and don't show up in other areas of the photos. What is the distribution method? If wind, then why aren't the rocks also covered with dust? Did the lander rolling in somehow "kick up" this stuff?
