Bedrock
Making the obvious assumption that the ring of "bedrock" was exposed when something blasted out this shallow crater, it means that you don't have to dig very far under the dirt to find it in this neck of the woods. Maybe a foot or so? Unfortunately, the rover can't dig that deep, but hopefully when we get out of this hole, there will be a LOT of exposed rock elsewhere in this area.
