1. The left believes the administration should be focusing its resources on Al Qaeda instead of Iraq.
The admin does focus on al-Qai’da, as well as Iraq. You seem to wish the admin to simply ignore Iraq.
2. The left doesn't buy the administration's rhetoric about Iraq being an gathering threat to the U.S.
Likely because Iraq no longer is a gathering threat. If you are referring to prior to the Coalition invasion of Iraq, then you’ve been living too long in a closed closet.
3. The left believe it was a preventive, not pre-emptive war, and sets a foolish and dangerous precedent.
Preventive, no. Delayable, yes -- and always at a cost. Iraqi soldiers, throughout the 12 years of failed UN sanctions, continually fired upon the U.S..
4. Having learned the lessons of Vietnam, the left doesn't believe trying to democratize a foreign country through force is worth the cost in lives and treasure.
Having forgotten the lessons of Vietnam, you wish the Coalition should simply pull out of Iraq and leave a new breeding ground for a displaced Taliban. Ain’t gonna happen.
Just my 1.5 cents,
Dan
