An Idea for saving Hubble
I don't know if this is feasible but if we can launch a Shuttle to Hubble with only a 3 man crew, couldn't the Ruskies launch an unmanned Soyuz to Hubble's orbital inclination to serve as a potential escape spacecraft? Such a Soyuz flight might only cost an additional $20m or so. Not sure how the astronauts would get from the Shuttle to the Soyuz. I don't think they can link up but there must be a way.
