re: the private sector

The word "multiplier" doesn't even appear in the CBO document, and I have found no evidence anyone else in your references has applied anything other than raw revenue vs. expenditure numbers. If there is such, point it out.

The creation of wealth in the private sector is the critical driver for any economy, and the "multiplier" of innovation can't be reliably measured.

Just as one single example, internet related industry generates, at best guess, about $800 billion a year in business. This industry didn't even exist as an industry a dozen years ago. This kind of thing CAN'T be ground down into statistical predictions, which may be why many economists seem to find socialism a lot more comforting than the seeming chaos of free markets and entrepreneurism.

The GDP in 2002 was almost twice what it was in 1980, in constant dollars. When you understand where that wealth came from, you'll understand where I'm coming from.
