Here in the HZ, we're all interested about Space Exploration and most of us are reasonably well informed. Also Robert and Justin have done a good job of keeping the worst of the fruitcakes out. It's possible here to have a lively debate and not have it drowned out by crazed yammering from the mentally ill. Most of us are not trained geologists and do not have our paychecks dependent upon the results of MER. Almost none of us are compelled to repeat the party line or bow down to the naked emperor. Finally, we know that discussions here are watched by significant lurkers. Opinions expressed here can have an impact.
