I've wondered about this thing myself, but like REB, I'm assuming it's some goober from the lander. It obviously was thrown there over a small distance, judging by the disturbed soil around it.
Like I have said before, while I firmly believe the cydonuts are...well...nuts, it is nice to have a pile of amateurs poring over all these pictures with a magifying glass. While none of them are going to find crabs, they may find something else cool that will be called to the attention of real scientists.
