I personally bet that this timeline although rosily optimistic, will be a far more accurate timeline than any NASA timeline like Mars sample return, etc.

I've said here before that the 1st Mars mission will be done with private money and occur in the late 2030s. Only a radical political revolution with NASA/govt Prize money of >$10B in the late 2020s could accelerate that.

Remember today's NASA is 'afraid' to take the risks to service Hubble. These current bozos are NOT gonna take people to Mars, not for less than Trillion$ in gold plated, super backup, expensive mode. Why our culture thinks nothing of leting people kill themselves off annually in NASCAR racing but gets all hysterical about losing astronauts is a puzzel. Not that killing off rednecks is a bad thing for the gene pool.
