Some people have ideas and opinions that aren't radical; they're more "middle of the road" as they try to please those in the grey area. Kerry's not the "you're with us or against us" type, and I repsect his reserve AND his candor.

Rough translation: having principles and ideals that change depending on who you're talking to and the circumstances of the moment is considered a GOOD thing in our modern day and age.

Like many politicians, Kerry will enthusiastically put his heart and soul behind whatever he thinks will get him the votes. His friends in the press sure aren't going to call him on it. I'm sure it's irritating to many that the old media isn't the only source of news any more, and that burying massive contradictions isn't as easy as it used to be.
