Current Events » in reply to Richard Perle, one of the architects of the Iraq invasion

Tenet has remarkable staying power. Curiouser and curiouser.

After the latest admission/accusation by GWB that the intel was wrong, he still spoke highly of Tenet and assured the press Tenet's job was secure.

It doesn't make sense. Heads roll if they embarrass the President, any President, at all. Look at O'Neill. He disagreed in a fairly minor way, and was canned. AFTER he was fired he cause the big ruckus.

The CIA has been blamed for a lot of this, for a long time, and Tenet still holds on. AND, he was a CLINTON appointee. That's even stranger.

However, puzzles only mean there isn't enough information. My guess is that in the manner of J. E. Hoover, he has so much negative information on GWB that he has indicated he'd release if he's fired that GWB has no choice.

Or that Tenet is sitting on info that will come out if he doesn't keep the lid on.

It really is the only thing that makes any sense at all. Unless that scenario is it.

Now Perle may be floating a hint to Tenet to quit. Appealing to his better nature, for the President. Without spilling the beans.

In my experience a puzzlement is only a lack of knowledge. Know enough and it all makes sense. And we just don't know enough.

I will say "Arf".

Arf

Actually, that's the start of a Christian prayer. "Arf ather who art in heaven, - - - - " Reverent son-of-a-bitch, I am.
