It wouldn't make an encrypted connection to Yahoo (I only use web email)... and then wouldn't make a connection to its own Help page!

I rebooted; then I couldn't get a web page of any kind to load in either Firefox or IE. So I uninstalled Firefox (for now - kept the installer file in my downloads folder), rebooted again, and now IE is working fine.

I suspect that Win98SE, though listed as compatible, is not necessarily a good platform to run Firefox on. I also suspect IE doesn't like the presence of other browsers . . . but that's paranoid.

I haven't given up on Firefox yet. If I can find out what to do about encryptions, so I can log on to my web mail accounts...
