re: Air Force Space Battle Plans

I'm working on operational architecture that combines several of those projects. Most of space control isn't about destroying stuff in orbit. Joint Doctrine defines space control as protection of your own assets, pervention of someone else using your own assets, and negation. Negation is divided into the "5 D's": deception, disruption, denial, degradation, and destruction. Only one of those options (destruction) might product space debris depending on the technique involved.

Air Force space doctrine divides space control into Defenseive Counterspace (DCS) and Offensive Counterspace (OCS). DCS can be thought of as a combination of protection and prevention, with the goal of protecting our own space assets. OCS is equivalent to the joint negation mission. There are easier ways to take out hostile space systems than to blow them up in space, such as taking out their ground control stations here on Earth.
