JPL expects to regain 2/3 of the lost power once it implements the software fix forcing the heater off at night. And keep in mind I did say IF the rover could last a year. I realize that huge crater is a pretty ambitious drive but there are smaller white-bottomed craters along the way and the terrain is fairly flat. With the robust software upgrade it might make it. Also, there appears to be a lot of ejected material from the crater that could be investigated along the way.
