Wouldn't it be wonderful if they eventually find LIFE on Mars?? And why not? Would it start to erode our consciousness here to a larger vision of who we are and what we share in this vast universe, rather than clubbing each other and blowing each other up? It's EXACTLY what we need. And I'm not talking about microscopic life, but something bigger, more animate. Maybe the Martians are waiting for our press release before they contact us. LOL (Case in point.......Levin says the 1976 Viking found evidence of microbial life which was "dismissed" by the scientists). What would it take for people to BELIEVE we're not alone? WHAT?
You know, my contention over here with the "scientists" and the space lovers are those who really DON"T believe in any form of alien life out there. You have people like David F. Mayer who claims moon walking astronauts should produce evidence rather than "blather" and he has yet to answer Johannes as to what "evidence" he would consider. For instance there are PLENTY of accounts of people in the past few decades who claim to have seen some type of space ship land, have occupants come out and take soil samples. There are also other accounts where space craft (ufos) have landed and these are TRACE CASES where there is PHYSICAL EVIDENCE that has been scientifically analysed. There would be pod marks and soil changes. I find this perfectly acceptable to think there are advanced life forms out there taking samples from our earth. Why do people find this so preposterous to believe?? What century are they living in?
Hell, our mars rover is doing JUST THAT.....TODAY!
From the article Buck linked to above:
>"There is no doubt that the Opportunity Mars rover is relaying a mother lode of geological data. Using an array of tools carried by the golf cart-sized robot -- from spectrometers, a rock grinder, cameras and powerful microscopic imager........."
Get with the program guys, lest your paradigm shift be too much to handle when the real news of life outside our own, comes........
