I don't think the harm that the US population inflicts on itself through violent crime counts as a human rights violation.
Also, people are placed in prison after receiving a trial. The reason they go to prison is because they did something bad. Prison is the known consequence for doing bad things. If while in prison, the prisoners fellow inmates want to play hide the salami with the new inmate- this is also a known consequence of the prisoner’s actions.
A grade schooler would find it easy to counter these points.
