Space/Science » in reply to Deep field?...So much for the suspicion of a jovian planet imaged. [sigh!]

re: Deep field!!

Deep field picture are far more inspiring than just one star with a tiny dot near it.
Deep Field means a huge number of galaxies at various distances (very far) and the telescope capable of reaching Magnitude 30 or even better!

I have a poster of the 1995 deep field, near my bed, and it's much more spectacular (and humbling) than the picture of the lone star (which was first believed to be a planet) with the coma behind it, in Taurus.
