When I was still using IE, the TOCs seemed to load in an acceptable amount of time, but the individual post pages almost never did. I developed the habit of waiting a few seconds of "hang time" after clicking a post, then clicking "back" (browser menu button) to the TOC and "forward" to the selected post, which would then load and display.

Using FireFox, that problem has evaporated, but a whole bunch of inconveniences have appeared in its place, all related to HZ not being designed for this (admittedly beta) browser. Even so, the workarounds are still faster than using IE.

I avoid the problem Raoul talks about below by always going back to the TOC in whatever board I've been reading, before using the pull-down to change boards. Note: I always always always use "compact mode".
