I don't know. First there simple the fact that it's news report- which in my experience is rarely very accurate. Then there is the problem to do with translation. Then there is the kind of speech, which everyone does when they trying to "sell" or promote anything. Then you simply have bias. Then you have this confrontation bias of the translators, and the resentful defensiveness of this guy.
There is no motivation here of reaching understanding.
Maybe what is really meant by "conquer'' is "aggressively spread the word".
It seems reasonable to me that Americans general are going to be interested in the Muslim religious. You simple have the "tatoo and piercing" mindset of "let's try anything" that maybe Mom and Dad are possibly going to have problem with, or which makes you "different". Then there is the interest of trying to understand that all the commotion is about.

Finally, I think you might have been successfully spun, regarding "The Passion". I haven't seen it yet- I'll probably wait "for the video".
