Hi Dan, I have had high cholesteral for many years now (230) and my doctor tried me on Lipitor, which made me feel VERY wierd, like I was coming apart. I just couldn't take it. When they say "It may not be for everyone", they're not just joking. Then he tried me on Advicor with niacinimide. And even taking half the medication made me flush like I was a lobster in a boiling pot. So I did some research and discovered that inflammation was part of my problem, affecting my heart and joints. I happened to read a very good article on the juice of the NONI plant from Polynesia, which was full of references on medical studies. It was recommended for inflammation of any type, arthritis, high blood pressure and cholesteral. I had nothing to lose. I had to do something as my cholesteral had shot up to over 300 this past year. They couldn't even read some levels because of hyperlipidemia (too many fats in the blood).
This was about 6 months ago. I started drinking about an ounce and a half of NONI GOLD first thing every morning with a large glass of water. Faithfully.
The inflammation completely cleared up. I haven't had to take even ONE anti-inflammatory since then. And my cholesteral is down to 212 as of last week. And this was just taking the Noni juice alone. I wouldn't recommend anyone throwing out their medicines (but I did), so, like LarryJ's wife, I swear by it. It appears to be working for me. And it's only 20 bucks a month versus $110 for Lipitor, or less if you have a prescription plan. Available at all health food stores. Regular Noni juice is pretty bitter, you might have to mix it with juice. I have used both. Hope this helps someone. Alternative therapies DO have benefits, if one is willing to research and try them.
