re: Bonneville Crater

Damn, I really would love a space suit and an ATV! Looks like it'd be a fun drive down into that.

Er, and I could use some LOX for the ATV, I guess. I think your horsepower goes down a bit when operated in a 6mbar CO2 atmosphere!

Don't see a whole lot in the way of outcrops, lots of dust it seems. In fact, given that it looks a bit shallow for its size (a gut reaction, I haven't looked at any numbers) I wonder if there is quite a deep layer of dust and debris on the bottom.

At a first glance, doesn't look like it gives us anything but more basalt. On the other hand, it would be interesting to know if their data shows any compositional differences from different rocks. How many and how thick are the flows here, and are they all made of exactly the same stuff?

Really wish there were a convenient way to pack age-dating equipment onto a rover. With the current suite of instruments finding nothing but basalt isn't all that exciting. If we could tell how old these flows are and over how long a period of time the sequence was erupted, that would be very interesting data.
