It's interesting how the surface of some Hematite speciments can 'behave' similarly to the bedrock surfaces of Meridiani.
Also, the blueberries/spherules/pisolites can have many sources of formation... volcanic, geyser/thermo to meteor impacts:
These spherules are from Caravaca, Spain look similar to our Martian ones, except for the color and probably composition... the ones on Meridiani are said to be blue to gray.

I wonder what the bedrock on Mars that the RAT exposed will look like in the future... if the surface would change over time.
