It's a virus.

My firm's been getting a real clever one lately. For the sake of this post lets call my firm's e-mail domain xyz.com.

We get an e-mail from administrator@xyz.com or e-mail@xyz.com

Then the body would say something like your e-mail is not working install this patch to clear up the problem.

The funny thing is if my e-mail wasn't working how'd I get the e-mail? Luckily everybody knows that any official e-mails about the computers will come from my e-mail address not some generic administrator address. It also helps that the office has less than 20 people, but I could see an e-mail like that causing havoc in larger firms.
