Talk about featureless terrain
Meridiani Planum maybe the most visually boring place on Mars. Nebraska looks positively hilly compared to Meridiani. It's easy to understand how MER-B ended up in Eagle Crater. While still in its airbags, MER-B just kept rolling along over that flat terrain until it rolled into the first depression which was Eagle Crater. Except for the heat shield, it looks like there's nothing between where MER-B is now and Endurance Crater. Endurance Crater should be extremely interesting (probably a more diverse version of Eagle Crater). I hope MER-B's hardware can handle the long journey.
