Would anyone be willing to try their hand at combining the images from the various filters into nice color images? I was given this formula to use to get the best color images from the filters: ((2 + 3) + 4) for the red channel, 5 for the green channel, and (6 + 7) for the blue channel.
I've been using Paintshop Pro 8 to do the "arithmetic" on the filters that need combining. Then I use Photoshop to combine the channels. The images that are used for color calibration (the ones with the sundial) create a good color image that reflects what colors humans would probably see. But when I try combining the images that have other things as the subject matter (like Spirit's "scuff" in the sand duneand Opportunity's newly-discovered "dimples" out of the crater), the colors don't seem right at all.
Long story short, will someone make a few color images and post them here for us all to enjoy? The color images made by NASA don't come often enough for me. :) Thanks!
