Mars "EXPRESS" -- not quite!

It may have been express getting to Mars but ESA sure seems to be releasing data very slowwwwwwwly. And when they do release it, their web site isn't nearly is pleasant to navigate as most of the NASA mission sites.

No, this is not an anti-Europe flame, just noting that NASA has gotten quite good at getting result out the door quickly over the web, and ESA is lagging.

On the subject of methane, I'd certainly want to see the volcanic hypothesis ruled out. I know methane has a very short lifetime in the atmosphere but what if you had a large magmatic intrusion that was very slowly degassing as it cooled -- could give you a very slow methane leak that lasted a long time, and so could keep up the trace amounts people are seeing.

But, what makes ESA think there is recent volcanism?!? I can think of several possible reasons given the instruments they have, the lack of information is frustrating to impatient types like me! :)
