I noticed something the other night while riding my bike at night illuminated by a sodium street lamp.

I could tell that there is a visible modulation in the light intensity with my bike tires. If illuminated by a
single lamp and going the correct speed, I would see the treads on my front tire "stand still". An optical
illusion from light peaks arriving coincident in time with the teeth of my tire.

This does indicate that for a single lamp the intensity does drop appreciably throughout the cycle. I didn't
think it would but I gotta admit it does.

I'm still sceptical about the concept of modulated blanking for seceral reasons but you were right about this.
