I was glad to see the Governing Council is more than just a figurehead at this point. They took an active role in protecting their own citizens. Iraq needs effective leadership.

We are negotiating from a position of strength and not for the release of hostages or cessation of hostilities. Our only "weaknessâ€ is our concern for the civilian population.

Anyway, cheer up. The cease-fire is scheduled to end in a few hours so you can go back to telling us how bad things are in Iraq.
