That was boring. Thanks Raoul.
Would it stop these retarded people spewing their nonsense, if we split apart the Manned and robot part of space program?
NASA is really *all* about a manned program.
The robotic program wouldn't get much or any funding. And at same time, the Manned program would want to use robotics. Is this so hard to understand?
It's sort of like wanting to stop airline travel, because you want to make more "room" for air cargo and mail.
"Why are people in such a hurry? I can understand why you want mail delivered faster, but people don't need to travel in the air- they can take trains if they want to go a long distance. And they don't really look out the windows, anyhow."
If you want to cancel the Manned program, what you *really* want to do is cancel NASA. That is your actual intention or you are just plain dumb.
The ONLY reason there are landers on Mars at this moment, is because we want to send crew to Mars. Mars is simply not that exciting- unless it's a potential human destination.
NASA is not everything to do with space. It could be argued that NASA "on balance" is doing more to interfere with the private sector instead of doing it's job of assisting private sector. The only reason I generally don't favor canceling NASA, is because I *hope* NASA will pull it's head out of it's ass. There are some signs that NASA might do this. And if it doesn't, it won't really matter that much, because we will evenually go around them. We want to open the space frontier- not just for a few, but for everyone.
