I don't take issue with Don and his endeavor, and for the first 8 months after the war, I kind of thought it was a good idea. But I don't think it has any effect outside of kicking the hornets nest.
The vitriolic responses he gets are out of porportion, for sure. I don't think Donald loves to see our guys dying as he is often accused. I think there is nothing fundamentally wrong, immoral or detestable about what donald is doing, contrary to the blanket analysis of the conservatives here.
But in that it [his posting practice] has completely failed to cause anyone to question anything about their stances WRT this war (in fact, quite the opposite- it has been hyperbolically caricaturized by the repubs as an example of ghoulish liberal anti-americanism), the question should be asked. What is his intent at this point? Why is he kicking the hornets nest?
And in as much as it is ratcheting up the tension here (see flame), maybe some folks that share his general political perspective should ask the question.
Let me put it this way: It don't bug me, but in as much as it seems pointless, maybe it is some 'low hanging fruit' that could be harvested to make things slightly less hot in here. But all that is contingent on why Donald is doing it and what his aims are.
I don't pretend to be the ideal peacemaker, but i'm interested in at least trying.
