I think the main political issue in my mind is the rank hypocrisy with which this particular issue is treated.

Bush's records were examined to the microscopic level. Any omission or inconsistency at all was seized upon as a certain sign that something evil was being held back, hidden, or lied about.

The inconsistencies in Kerry's record, some of which are mentioned here, are glossed over, their innocence assumed as a given, and any attempts to point them out at all are derided as vile attacks on Kerry's patriotism and service.

Frankly, I'm beginning to wonder if many on the Left are even capable of perceiving hyprocrisy any more.
