Every time I called the Verizon 800 number they told me I can't get it in Idaho. "The whole state?" I asked. "Yes the whole state." "But my neighbor has DSL and he lives in Idaho too." they then told me it wasn't possible. I hung up and called the local Verizon number on my bill. Sure enough DSL is not a problem. Except for me the cost was still prohibitive. Luckily Adelphia is running a $29 for 12 months deal right now. The cable guy showed up to install it Friday. After puzzling over my computer for a while I told him to move over and I installed it myself. The kid had never heard of Windows NT or Internet Connection Sharing before. Where do they get these kids from? I thought about charging him a setup fee, but since they weren't charging me one I extended the same courtesy. :)
