Speaking of Mars, I've been trying to locate 'color' images of the martian moon, Phobos.
This is ironic.
Americans take note!
I can't locate a single color-image of either of the martian moons
in the image-archives for either the Viking orbiters, or MGS or Odyssey.
Guess what? It's the Soviets who were the "only" ones it appears to have taken close-up 'COLOR' images of the martian moon, Phobos, with their
spacecraft PHOBOS-2.
And to think that you Americans consider the Soviet PHOBOS-2 mission a
'total' failure.
It was NOT a total failure!...
It returned nearly two-months of data from martian-orbit before sadly it expired a few days short of its goal of landing on Phobos.
