Self-chilling cans could be on sale in July
A can which can cool its contents to 3C is set to reach shop shelves this summer. Tempra Technology is behind the creation which uses watery gel and a heat-absorbing gizmo to chill beer and keep it cool for up to an hour. The cooling device is activated by twisting the bottom of the can.
Tempra has signed a deal with the company which makes cans for Heineken, Bass, Coke, Pepsi and Budweiser and it’s thought the Instant Cool tins will be available from July. Expect the cans to cost between 10p and 20p more than regular ones.
